FRIENDS
Friends are nice
Friends are kind
Friends are good
Friends are mine
Friends are precious
Friends are proven
Friends are pleasant
Friends are chosen
Friends are lasting
Friends are loving
Friends are faithful
Friends are forgiving
But the friend of all friends
Is the man in the glory
Who laid down His life
For His friends-what a story
Ruth Edgar
Some day the trumpet loud shall sound
And time will be no more
The clouds will break and Christ will come
As He said in days of yore
The heavenly bridegroom shall appear
To take his chosen bride, a glorious, spotless,
holy church, the church for whom He died
The scoffers say He will not come
For it has been so long
Since the prophets told us of the day
He’d claim His blood washed throng
The signs they are all pointing
To His coming in the sky; it will happen oh so
sudden, in the twinkling of an eye
Yes, just as surely He came to lowly
He’ll come again in majesty
A king sent forth to reign
A separation will take place
of those who love the Lord
and those who’ve turned their back on Him
and spurned His Holy Word
Oh say, will you be ready? It could be night or
for the bridegroom’s surely coming
and His coming will be soon

Who made the flowers
Who made the trees
Who made the rivers
Who made the seas?
Who made the monkeys
Who made the bees
Who made the tadpoles
And who made me?
It was God made the planets
And hung them in space
God made the sun
To shine on our face
God made the day
To work for our bread
God made the night
To lay down our head
God made man
To glorify Him
God sent a Redeemer
To save us from sin
Ruth Edgar
Just, unique, eternal
The way, the truth, the life
The door and the good shepherd
The resurrection and the light
The bread of life, He is the vine
Son of man and Son of God
The lamb of God, the sinless one
The sacrifice by blood
Ruth Edgar
A world of peace
the first man and wife
of love and contentment
where good was rife
What God had said
man disobeyed
the world in the depths
of sin was laid
A world of trouble
of evil and strife
of hatred and suffering
where sin was rife
A world of hope
the Prince of Peace
deliverance to the captive
and sweet release
Despised and rejected
and nailed to a cross
Christ was crucified
for the world He died
He arose victorious
from the grave
and He ever lives
the world to save
Ruth Edgar
How quickly marches time
from year to year
the months go by
on eagle’s wings
how swift the seasons fly
The winter’s past
a time of darkness, death, decay
signs of life appear
on every hand
the herald the season of the year
With spring comes Easter
a time to remember
the death of Christ
God’s only Son
Who made the supreme sacrifice
His death was no mistake
it was what God had planned
Christ took the place
upon the cross
of Adam’s helpless race
He died, He rose again
He lives to save
who’ll come by faith
and contrite heart
to receive His proffered grace
Ruth Edgar
